Mrs. Cindy Van Gunda joined the BJCS faculty in 2013. This will be her eighth year as a teacher, in which she has taught kindergarten, second, fourth, fifth, enrichment, and pre-algebra. She is very excited to be teaching fifth grade again this year. Mrs. Van Gunda earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Memphis in 2008 and her Master’s in Educational Theory and Practice from Arkansas State University in 2011. She recently completed training at Vanderbilt University in Exemplary Curriculum and Programs on Gifted Education.
When she is not teaching, Mrs. Van Gunda enjoys spending time with her family, reading, shopping for bargains, and singing. She has been married to her husband Brad for 10 years, and they have one son, David. Mrs. Van Gunda is very excited to be a part of the BJCS family and hopes all students and parents alike will see her love for learning. She believes all students can achieve greatness if they are challenged appropriately.
