Ms. Stephanie Slough is the Middle School science teacher and Lower School STEM coach. She grew up in southwestern Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in Vocational Agriculture. She spent several years in research, winning the 2000 National Council of Commercial Plant Breeders Graduate Student Research Award for her research in wheat X maize haploid technique. In 2003 she traveled overseas to teach chemistry in the Federated States of Micronesia on the island of Yap. After two wonderful years on the island, teaching opportunities in Thailand and then Jordan followed. In 2010 she returned to the US to live and teach science in Memphis. She has taught at both the Middle School and Upper School levels, including biology, chemistry, environmental science, and physics/physical Science. She enjoys photography, scuba diving, gardening, and working with rescue animals.
