Mrs. Karen Raff is a native Memphian who attended White Station School from the first grade through high school. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Texas in Austin. Mrs. Raff has teaching certificates in elementary education and kindergarten, as well as history and speech on the high school level. Mrs. Raff taught first grade and kindergarten in the Alamo Heights Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. She has been teaching first grade for over twenty-six years with the last twenty-three years at BJCS. Mrs. Raff's goal is to instill a love of learning in each child. She creates a nurturing environment focusing on differentiated instruction and emphasizing the importance of responsibility, organization, and independence for a first grade student. Mrs Raff is married to Carl Raff and has two sons, Adam and Neal.
