This is Mrs. McAlexander’s 16th year teaching at Bornblum, her eleventh in the middle school. She enjoys the continuity of shepherding students throughout all three years of middle school and developing lasting relationships of trust and shared learning. In her social studies and literature courses she links past and present, science and culture, analysis and appreciation. Before coming to Bornblum, she taught history of art at the University of Memphis for ten years. While sharing her enthusiasm for learning, her goal is to challenge students intellectually, help them understand the world and their place in it, and prepare them for continued vigorous academic studies in high school. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Arts from the University of Virginia, and a Master of Arts in teaching from the University of Memphis.
