Bornblum Plans Dedication Ceremony for December 6th

This year at Bornblum Jewish Community School’s annual Chanukah celebration, attendees will participate in a very special ceremony as the school dedicates the building that houses its middle school as “The Moss Building,” in honor of Judy and Larry Moss.” The couple recently committed to a $1 million dollar endowment gift to the school. According to Daniel R. Weiss, Bornblum’s Head of School, “This transformational gift will help to ensure the future financial viability of the school. And because Chanukah evokes the themes of dedication and generosity, we thought that our Chanukah celebration was a perfect occasion to celebrate the Moss’ contribution to the future of Bornblum.”

The Mosses, who have a long history with Bornblum Jewish Community School, “feel that it is very important for every Jewish child to have access to an exceptional Jewish education. Our youngest daughter, Marissa, went from 1st grade all the way through 8th grade and received an excellent education at Solomon Schechter Day School which is now Bornblum Jewish Community School. We hope our gift will enable BJCS to continue to offer excellence in education for future generations to come.” They also hope that their gift will help to inspire others to make significant commitments to the future of Bornblum.

According to Mark Sorin, Bornblum’s President, “Judy and Larry are an inspiration for our whole community. Their generosity with their time and money are exceptional, and inspire all of us to do everything we can to help Bornblum thrive.”

The school’s Chanukah celebration and dedication will take place at 6:30pm on Thursday evening, December 6th. and is open to the whole community. In addition to the dedication of The Moss Building, participants will enjoy traditional Chanukah favorites like donuts and dreidels, as well as bounce houses, a holiday gift market and inspiring student performances.
